So... Summer Arrives at Last!

Lamb's Ear, Paprika Yarrow and Salvia Blue Cloud

This Salvia Blue Cloud is HUGE this year!

Paprika Yarrow and Salvia May Night

After a cold, wet, Spring.... Summer arrived today in all it's blazing glory. Just in time, I say. It feels good to be warm and all of the plants are rejoycing in their new found warmth. I can't belive how tall many things are this year, after all the moisture we've had. It certainly made and difference, and I am enjoying the process of seeing how my "friends" are all reacting. Of course, I'll be complaining about the heat any day now. But maybe not. I think a bit of a cool-down is on the way. Here are some photos I took today of my plants rejoycing!

I like the combination of plants, the red, white, and blue predominate making it a good garden for our next big holiday, the 4th of July.

I envy you your beautiful and colorful garden. It is very clear to me that it is a labor of love.
Keep up the great work, and I'll live vicariously through your pictures.

I agree with Carol- what a striking color combination. Beautiful! And the salvia looks a bright blue next to the hot red, and yet mellows to almost purple where you paired it with the paprika. thank you for sharing the photos, they are lovely.

Thank you Carol, Colie and Ellen for you comments... you made my day! I was looking at my salvias today, thinking how much I enjoy them, and will be doing a post on them soon. I do love red and purple together, and like to have purple the dominant color.

I've got to get some of that Paprika yarrow, yours is stunning! We do have tall plants this year, don't we? All that rain was a godsend.

Connie... thanks! Yes, it is fun to have all that space to fill up. And it's getting pretty full now!

LostRoses... Wish you were closer... I'd love to share some of my Paprika with you. It is one of my favorites and looks lovely near Sedum Autumn Joy.
