Now...this is more like it!

Notice the footprints? The early morning visitor is our resident fox who walks the same route through our property every day. Here he is on his way back. When he first arrives in the morning he has diagonal tracks across the grass.

This is more like a beautiful Colorado winter day! A fresh snow fall last night and dazzling sunshine today. Terribly cold though! I suppose we will get as tired of looking at winter snow pictures as we did coneflowers in the summer??

Freshly fallen snow is so beautiful. I love sunshine on a snowy day, but it is amazing how blinding that can be.

Beautiful photos!

Katie, I feel for you CA gardeners with all the rain you have had lately. You certainly have some challenges there. Good luck!

Robin, Yes, it can be so blinding that you need to make sure your eyes are protected all the time. Being so close to the sun give us some very bright days, for sure.

Marie, Thanks again for your visits and comments.

To everything there is a season. (Coneflower season and snow season, ha.) Your snow looks deep and beautiful. We are in a cycle of snowing and melting. Do you winter-sow? I am excited to start soon.

Ah, now that's the kind of snow I love. The deep kind! Wish we'd get some of that in these parts so it would finally "look" like winter. Enjoy!

Looks like you have a visitor (footprints in photo #1) -- what do you think it is?

Connie, I haven't thought of winter sowing. Hmmm... I'm going to look into it. Only thing is, most areas are pretty covered with mulch. Will that make it more difficult?

Christa, thanks for visiting. I love to look out on snow like this but I sure don't like driving in it!

Wade, I noticed the footprints and am going to edit the post -- they are from our resident fox who has a regular route he uses every day. Thanks for visiting!
