Don't Like the Weather? Just Wait!

That's what they say about Colorado. I think the rest of the sentence is something like 5 minutes. There are many areas of the country that use this saying, but in Colorado, we really mean it!

Here we are, all cleaned up and ready to go for another year. I love this Silver Sage. Temperature was in the 70's.

And... here we are a couple of days later.

And...here we are the next day. Back to Spring again!

This part of the area that is under construction in the back.

Yes, there are tulips under here somewhere!

Pasque Flowers a week ago.

And, here they are buried in snow. True to their nature though, they recovered nicely the next day.

Aliums trying to grow through the snow.

The weather has been beautiful, although windy, for the most part since this last snow. But don't count on it staying that way. We still have a couple weeks or so before we are out of the snow danger zone. I've seen it snow a foot or more in late May... we'll see how it goes this year.

Hi Bev - ain't it the truth. Just wait 5 minutes and it will change. Everything in my yard has exploded this week from all the moisture. We'll probably get a hard Spring storm now - grrr....Thanks for visiting my blog.

Dear Bev,
Thank you for including me in your blogroll, and prompting me to visit your blog. I, too, live in a "don't like the weather?..." area, and in the last week it has been 22 and 82. Oh, and did I mention that what I am "just waiting" for is some rain? We went from frozen to dust bowl; yet another year in the life of a gardener and a garden begins.

At least you had a peek at the Pulsatilla and tulips, so even if the snow covers them unexpectedly, you know they exist!
Happy sort-of Spring, Bev ;-]

I sure would not be happy if we had even a hint or flake of snow right now. You seem to have a good attitude about it, however.

Hopefully, no more snow in your future, at least until fall!

Thank you always for sharing your garden with us. It's really been a colder spring here. I'm chomping (?) at the bit to get started planting, maybe Sunday. Hope you're doing well in this difficult time. Spring a time for rebirth. e-mail me

Hi Bev,

just checking to see if all is well with you? I hope you're just too busy with all kinds of fun stuff leaving no time to post on your blog.
Hope to see another growing season in your beautiful garden!

Thank you, as I have been looking for a Colorado blog to check out.
I wanted to learn more about what I can put into that little bed out there that is not a water hog.
Also something that I am not allergic to the smells.
I live in a senior/handicapped complex and we are each trying to beautify our areas with little things. I do not have a green thumb so to speak, so again I thank you for your blog.
I shall bookmark it for reference.
Have a great day.

That’s an old saying they used to have when I lived in Ohio aswell. And it couldn’t be more true today.

Since I left L.A. on a warm, sunny day (like every day before it for the past 4 months), I have been exposed to snow, ice, rain, hail, extreme heat, cold, thunder, lightning, strong winds, and one beautifully mild period filled with white fluffy clouds in a deep blue sky.
