I'm clueless on gardening but want to spruce my yard this year-- and grow some veggies. I might like to Zeriscape in a patch in my front yard. If you had any suggestions on plants and flowers that might do well with sun, I'd love to hear. I understand English Lavendar and Echinacea might be nice choices and I LOVE both of those.www.stepherz.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01345816019320216281noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7833228872509804269.post-78938500897609003162008-02-10T14:49:00.000-07:002008-02-10T14:49:00.000-07:00My heartfelt thanks to all of you for taking the t...My heartfelt thanks to all of you for taking the time to visit my blog and leave your comments. Yesterday was in the 50's... yea!!! Gives one hope of spring, only to be dashed as more snow is expected tomorrow. My seeds arrived and that was exciting! I put them out in the garage where it is cold, like Carol suggestion.Bevhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11729192065772139823noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7833228872509804269.post-48541656718150915162008-02-07T13:19:00.000-07:002008-02-07T13:19:00.000-07:00Lovely photos! I keep raw peanuts and suet hanging right outside my office window, and the Downy woodpeckers and the Flickers put on quite a show. Ahhh...and there goes a red fox! Happy birding, Bev.

Jocelyn, The Art GardenJocelyn H. "As if".

Carol, May Dreams GardensCarol Michelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07796344366326535406noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7833228872509804269.post-46376632342269329932008-02-06T16:19:00.000-07:002008-02-06T16:19:00.000-07:00Hi, Bev. I really hope they're right!

Anyway, here's some more colorful summer pictures to brighten your day. My garden isn't too impressive, as I live in a rental that I'm not allowed to "modify" much. http://ruotsala.blogspot.com/2007/06/my-garden.html

BTW, for your backyard, what about doing some kind of paver and buffalo grass design in the sunny part and a shade grass under the tree? I'm picturing like a checker board or something?? That way, you have have a clearly defined line where the types of grass switch, so it won't look wierd. I'll see if I can find some pics of what I'm talking about.Sarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10620924605296095526noreply@blogger.com
